On April 3, 2025, upon application by Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”), BDO Canada Limited (“BDO”) was appointed as the interim receiver (the “Interim Receiver”) in respect of Mahindra Investments (AB) Ltd., Mahindra Jewellers (AB) Ltd., Surrey Gold Jewellers (AB) Ltd. and Bluewater (786) Contractors Ltd. (collectively, the “Debtors”) pursuant to an Order (the “Interim Receivership Order”) granted by the Court of King's Bench of Alberta (the “Court”).
On April 17, 2025, upon further application by RBC, the Court granted a preservation order (the “Preservation Order”) in respect of certain of the Debtors' property.
On April 25, 2025, upon further application by RBC, BDO was appointed as receiver and manager (the “Receiver”) over all of the assets, undertakings, and properties of the Debtors pursuant to an order granted by the Court. Accordingly, pursuant to the Interim Receivership Order, the interim receivership terminated on this same date.
