On April 4, 2024, upon application by the Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”), the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta (the “Court”) granted an order (“Receivership Order”) appointing BDO Canada Limited (“BDO”) as receiver (the “Receiver”) of all the current and future assets, undertakings, and property of Bereket & G Holdings Corp. (the “Bereket”). The primary asset is a two-story building located at the municipal address of 10418 107 Avenue NW Edmonton Alberta (the “Property”).
Furthermore, on July 22, 2024, upon application by the RBC, the Court amended and restated the Receivership Order (the “Amended and Restated Receivership Order”) to include Habesha African Supermarket Ltd. (“Habesha”), a related entity to Bereket operating as a grocery store. Accordingly, BDO was also appointed as Receiver over Habesha.
