Katie is the leader of BDO's Private Client Services team where she is responsible for the strategic growth and operations of the practice. She has more than 15 years of experience specializing in providing expert tax planning and compliance services tailored to private corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individuals.
Katie's expertise extends to multi-generational family-owned businesses and single or multi-family offices, where she assists with succession planning, strategic exits, founder planning, corporate reorganizations, business purchases and sales, creditor proofing, estate planning, philanthropy planning, and remuneration planning. Growing up in a family business that has spanned multiple generations has provided Katie with first-hand invaluable experience to assist family offices and family-owned businesses. She works closely with clients to strategize their business opportunities, helping them minimize taxes and maximize government incentives.
Katie is a past tutorial leader for the CPA In-Depth Tax program and a current member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She is also a member of the SickKids Foundation Professional Advisors Council and previously served as the Treasurer and Director for a local Family Health team.
