Executive summary
Gaya joined BDO Law’s Tax Controversy & Dispute Resolution practice after working with BDO Canada's Canadian Tax group in Montreal.
As part of his practice, Gaya assists clients at both the national and international levels resolving disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenu Québec (RQ), representing them in audits, objections, and appeals to the Tax Court of Canada. Additionally, Gaya has represented clients in respect to taxpayer relief requests, voluntary disclosure program applications, tax matters related to tax-free savings accounts (TFSA), and other forms of representations.
In his practice, Gaya ensures taxpayers receive fair and equitable treatment in accordance with the applicable legislation, jurisprudence, and the Taxpayer Bill of Rights, when representing them in their disputes with the tax authorities.
In his spare time, Gaya is a proponent of active living, soccer, hiking, and discovering new places.
