Executive Summary
Paul is a Partner in BDO’s Toronto office, with over 15 years of professional experience providing Financial Advisory Services to CFOs and other senior financial executives and management. Paul specializes in fairness opinions, business valuations and modeling, advising on financing and capital structure issues, deal pricing for M&A or divestitures and employee share ownership plans. Paul has prepared valuations for business planning, board governance, shareholder transactions, litigation support, tax compliance and financial reporting.
Paul has provided services to clients in a wide range of industries, including financial services, pensions & benefit plans, asset and portfolio management, infrastructure, public private partnership (P3S), private equity, technology & life sciences, media, telecommunications, transportation, manufacturing and leasing and automotive parts.
Paul’s industry experience includes leading the finance, valuations and FP&A functions at Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) for 5 years where he worked directly with private markets deal teams, risk teams and boards on activities that impacted pricing, financing and other decision making for multi-million-to-billion dollar private equity and infrastructure investments.
Paul has international experience working with multi-disciplinary service teams for public and private companies in Canada, the US, Australia, Finland, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
Paul is Co-leader of BDO’s National Private Equity Group. He is also the Vice-Chair of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CICBV) and a Member of the CICBV Board.
