Executive Summary

Michael has been with BDO for 29 years and is the engagement partner for many audit, review and compilation engagements. He also provides consultations to BDO firms across Ontario in audit and accounting issues. Starting out as a student in accounts payable in BDO’s Walkerton office, he was involved in the audit of numerous municipal clients while obtaining his CA. Since moving to Port Elgin in 1989, he has been responsible for the audits of large and small owner-managed businesses as well as municipalities, telecommunications and numerous not-for-profit organizations. In addition, he is called on by other BDO offices to assist with the review of audit files for municipalities and other clients.

Michael is also the Regional Auditing and Accounting Practice Leader. He is responsible for ensuring that BDO’s Southern and Midwestern Ontario Region offices (27 in all) adhere to firm and professional standards and is a technical resource for these offices. He is accredited as a BDO Assurance Specialist and a BDO Tax Reviewer.
