Executive Summary

As a Partner in BDO’s Indirect Tax practice, Jeremy advises client s in various sectors in the areas of the Federal Goods and Services Tax/ Harmonized Sales Tax, and Provincial Sales Tax, Tobacco Taxes, Fuel Taxes as well as Environmental Stewardship Levies. With over 15 years of indirect tax experience, and a particular focus on the Wholesale and Retail sectors, real estate income trusts (REITs), mergers and acquisitions and public sector bodies, Jeremy proactively advises clients and also assists them with audit defense.

Formerly, Jeremy served as the head of tax for one of Canada’s largest wholesalers/retailers of grocery products, and was involved with a number of industry associations.  He is also a member of the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society.

Jeremy is a frequent presenter for CPA Nova Scotia and CPA Newfoundland and Labrador.  He was a member of the Advisory Committee for the CPA Canada – 2017 Commodity Tax Symposium, as well as a panelist for the CPA Canada – 2014 Commodity Tax Symposium.
