Executive summary

As an Assurance Partner in BDO's Vancouver office with 30 years of experience, Brian provides audit, assurance, and business advisory services to private companies, primarily in the real estate development and investment, hospitality, and infrastructure sectors. He also serves numerous not-for-profit and public-sector organizations, including local government, education, health authorities, crown, and provincially controlled entities.

Brian's experience includes financing alternatives, financial modelling and projections, real estate syndications and accounting for complex transactions. He is committed to long-term trusted advisor relationships where his clients feel comfortable picking up the phone to discuss the “what-keeps-you-up-at-night” issues they face on a day-to-day basis.

He is a Lifetime Member and frequent presenter at conferences and professional development sessions of the Government Finance Officers Association of British Columbia. Brian is also a co-author of CPA Canada's public sector and not-for-profit courses.

In addition, Brian is an active member of the Vancouver business community and is the Past Chair of the Board of Directors. Currently, he is the Governor of the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as a member of the CPABC Professional Development Advisory Committee for Audit and Accounting and he is a former member of the Accounting Standards Board's Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee.
