CME and BDO 2022 Survey on Supply Chains

Survey

With the combined effects of a shifting global security landscape and a slow recovery from pandemic shutdowns, it should come as no surprise that supply chain issues are top of mind for Canadian manufacturers. Global events have increased their costs, affected demand for their products, increased lead times, and created labour shortages.

The 2022 Survey on Supply Chains reveals the views, concerns, and experiences of more than 500 manufacturing leaders across the country. The survey—conducted by the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters with BDO's collaboration—dives into greater detail about how manufacturers are adapting to supply chain disruption, and what proactive actions they are taking to overcome these challenges and pivot towards growth.

The survey results also describe:

  • The severity of delays across air, water, rail, and road transportation segments
  • How businesses are responding to sourcing challenges
  • The most significant challenges of relocating or scaling up production in Canada
