Executive summary

Michael is an audit partner and trusted business advisor with over 20 years of experience providing accounting, auditing and business advisory services to Canadian, US, and foreign multinational public and private companies.

He has broad experience in a variety of sectors including mining, manufacturing, life sciences and technology, infrastructure and construction, transportation and logistics, distribution and processing and healthcare.

Michael has extensive knowledge and experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Standards in the United States (US GAAP), and Canadian and US securities financial reporting requirements. Michael assists organizations by providing advice and guidance on the accounting for complex transactions in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP and assessing the impact to the organization's financial position and performance.

He also works closely with key internal and external stakeholders, reviewing Canadian and US public company filings, including financial statements, MD&A and prospectus documents for initial public and secondary offerings. Michael assists organizations by providing advice with respect to the reporting and disclosure of the operating performance, financial results and transactions for the inclusion in public filing documents to meet regulatory requirements, improve disclosures and enhance the readers overall understanding. Further, he provides recommendations to management for the improvement of internal controls over financial reporting.
