Mark Verwey, a client service partner in the Portage la Prairie office, has over 25 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant serving clients in a wide range of industries, including owner-managed businesses, medical professional practices and agriculture clients. Mark's areas of expertise and experience include accounting and assurance, and provides enhanced services to his clients as a Certified Financial Planner and Registered Financial Planner, including estate, succession and tax planning and wealth management.

Mark chairs BDO's Manitoba Agriculture Industry Group and is a member of BDO's National Agriculture Industry Group. He has authored articles for Country Guide West Magazine and has been engaged as a speaker to share his knowledge at many client informational sessions both locally and provincially.

He also works with BDO's Senior Management Development Centre. As one of the assessors, he assists with the professional development of BDO's Senior Managers.

His community service work extends from Portage la Prairie, including the Soup Kitchen, coaching minor sports and supporting local charities, to international causes through his involvement as a Friend of the Free the Children organization.
