Executive summary
Jeremy Picco is a Partner on BDO's Risk Advisory Services team. He has more than 20 years of experience in internal audit and risk management, including treasury risk management, anti-money laundering (AML), and IT-related risk issues. He also previously provided external audit assurance for organizations across the globe.
Jeremy has provided board training, enterprise risk management services, and regulatory readiness preparation for numerous organizations throughout Canada. With a strong financial background and knowledge base, he helps clients understand and enhance their systems and controls.
He has also led special projects on behalf of banking and securities regulators which have helped change their regulatory approach. One of these projects included contributing to an examination of provincially chartered insurance companies for a provincial financial institution regulator using a newly adopted, risk-based supervisory framework.
In addition to his extensive work with treasury audit and advisory, Jeremy has reviewed the implementation of a funds transfer pricing model and audited the conversion of an ALM model for Canadian-based credit unions. He has also held various board roles with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Canada, the IIA Vancouver and IIA Toronto chapters, a not-for-profit organization, and a private company.
