Executive summary
Andrea Damiani is a tax lawyer and Partner who leads the Tax Controversy practice in Western Canada and the national tax litigation practice. Andrea helps clients resolve tax disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency and provincial tax authorities at all stages, including audits, objections, and appeals before the courts. Andrea has appeared in the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Andrea also has experience with administrative applications such as voluntary disclosures and taxpayer relief requests.
Andrea regularly presents at industry conferences, including the BC Tax Conference, and has published with the Canadian Tax Foundation. Before joining BDO Law, Andrea practiced at a tax boutique firm in Vancouver, assisting clients with tax disputes as well as tax, succession, estate, and trust planning.
Outside of work, Andrea is a competitive triathlete and multi-time World Triathlon Championship and gold medalist for Team Canada.
