Can my RRSP hold real estate?

Your Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) cannot have a direct investment in real estate. However, it is possible to invest indirectly in real estate by buying shares of publicly traded companies which invest in real property or units in a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).
