BDO partners with Canadian Accessibility Network and Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work

BDO can help corporate Canada be more innovative when it comes to persons with disabilities, through our new partnerships with the Canadian Accessibility Network (CAN) and the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW),” said Max Brault, a vice president in Management Consulting at BDO.

An architect of the Accessible Canada Act (ACA), Brault was appointed to the CAN Policy domain working group for a two-year term beginning January 2021.

“Collaborations across sectors, including corporate partners such as BDO, are integral to our success as a pan-Canadian network that recognizes the high level of complexity and scope of accessibility as a societal priority,” said Boris Vukovic, Director of the READ Initiative at Carleton University and National Director for CAN.

Under Brault's leadership, BDO and CCRW have also signed a memorandum of understanding, forming an ongoing relationship between the two organizations.

“CCRW promotes an inclusive path to an enhanced workforce. We are committed to innovative partnerships like this one to ensure businesses across Canada have access to solutions and disability-inclusive best practices. Working with networks such as CAN and with industry leaders such as BDO, together we will lead businesses to recognize the opportunities in hiring talented people with disabilities,” said Jamie Burton, Chief Business Development Officer at CCRW.

“BDO, CAN, and CCRW are all working to create an atmosphere that is better for people with disabilities in Canada—we're always exploring new and innovative ways to have an impact,” Brault concluded.

BDO accessibility consulting helps the private sector and the public service identify accessibility issues and provides strategic solutions to address them. Through a series of successful engagements, the BDO service line has helped to accelerate adoption of federal accessibility recommendations in corporate and government settings.
