The holidays are around the corner and families from coast to coast are preparing to spend time with loved ones over a shared meal. While the pandemic continues to be a difficult time for many, BDO Canada is proud to share it has raised 846,507 meals for the annual Drive Away Hunger campaign to help local food banks in communities across the country.
“At BDO Canada, supporting local communities is at the core of our values” said Pat Kramer, Chief Executive Officer, BDO Canada. “We have received an overwhelming response to this year's fundraising initiative, and I am incredibly proud of our team for coming together to raise donations and give back.”
In addition to the annual BDO Goes the Distance campaign which encourages employees to walk, run, wheel or paddle to raise money for the initiative, fundraising activities also took form in several unique ways this year, including:
- Heaviest Donation Contest: As part of the contest, BDO employees were encouraged to fill a grocery bag with a minimum of 5 different most needed items. The contest gathered 157 lbs of non-perishable food./li>
