Briere Production Group Inc. and Briere Transportation Ltd.

On May 1, 2025, pursuant to an Order (the “Order”) of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, BDO Canada Limited was appointed as Receiver of the assets, undertakings, and property of Briere Production Group Inc. (“Production”) and Briere Transportation Ltd. (“Transportation” or collectively with Production the “Companies”). The Order was granted on April 10, 2025, but only effective on May 1, 2025.

Production operates a rental and production services company, providing audio and visual equipment and services for events. Transportation offers transportation solutions for the production and entertainment industries. The Receiver secured the assets and conducted a formal sale process. The Receiver accepted an offer for the purchase of the assets of Production. On July 14, 2025, the receiver made application to the court seeking:

  1. Approval of the purchase of assets of Production;
  2. Approval to distribute proceeds of the sale in accordance with the respective priority payables;
  3. An amendment to the Receivership Order to authorize the Receiver to assign the Companies in bankruptcy; and,
  4. An Order compelling the principal of the Companies, Christopher Briere to provide access to and produce all records, documents and information relating to the Companies.

On Monday, July 21, 2025, the Court approved the sale of the assets of Production to Sound Waves Entertainment Network Ltd. (“Approval and Vesting Order”).

On August 1, 2025, the Court granted the following Orders:

  1. Directing Christopher Briere and other relevant parties turn over assets and grant access to records, systems, and property to the Receiver (the “Production Order”);
  2. Authorizing the Receiver to distribute the net proceeds of sale in accordance with applicable priorities and amending the Receivership Order to permit the Receiver to assign one or both Companies into bankruptcy, if appropriate (the “Distribution Order”).

On September 23, 2025, the Receiver assigned Briere Production Group Inc. into bankruptcy. The First Meeting of Creditors was held on October 21, 2025, at 9:00am PST.

On February 23, 2026, the Receiver made an application to the Court seeking the approve of its fees and discharge. The matter is scheduled to be heard by the Court on March 10, 2026.

On March 10, 2026, the Court granted an order approving the Receiver’s discharge.
