Ziad is a Partner in BDO's Risk Advisory practice based in Toronto and has over 16 years of experience providing advisory services to clients from coast-to-coast. He has successfully assisted a number of clients with corporate governance, risk management, and compliance monitoring. He has participated in several consulting mandates working with publicly listed companies, large private companies, and the public sector in a range of industries including financial services, technology and life sciences, energy and natural resources, cannabis, and real estate.
Ziad has in-depth knowledge of several reference frameworks such as COSO 2013 (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations), internal control certification (SOX and 52-109), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards, IIA's International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) standards, as well as the COSO Enterprise Risk Management Integrated Framework. He also specializes in evaluating and assessing information technology internal controls and compliance requirements applying frameworks such as COBIT and ITIL. Additionally, Ziad manages the service delivery of System and Organization Controls (SOC 1-2-3) reports under CSAE 3416, SSAE18, and ISAE 3402.
