Tim Sothern, FCA, FCPA, MBA

Executive summary

Tim is responsible for providing a wide range of Business Advisory services. He specializes in accounting and assurance for larger owner-managed and non-profit clients and is an Assurance Specialist in BDO. Tim has over 25 years of public accounting experience in Waterloo Region and is the Regional Leader for BDO's Not-for-Profit Industry Team.

Tim has been awarded one of the highest honours in accounting, a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants (FCPA, FCA) designation, for his service to the profession and career and community achievements that have brought honour to the profession. He is very active as a volunteer including as a former member of the audit committee of the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, a member of the Board of Directors for Supportive Housing of Waterloo and a Partner of Social Venture Partners Waterloo Region.

Tim has recently been elected to BDO's National Policy Board.
