Executive summary
Peter is a member of the extended tax leadership team and serves as the National Tax Office Leader. He leads a team that is responsible for ensuring the firm's continued tax growth and risk management. Moreover, his team provides clients with insights on evolving regulations and tax developments in the domestic market.
Previously, Peter worked as a partner in BDO's Guelph office. His main area of focus was advising and consulting with clients, including business owners, corporate executives, and other high-net-worth individuals on Canadian tax matters. His extensive experience includes estate planning, business restructuring, and proactive current tax planning.
Additionally, Peter has successfully planned and implemented numerous estate plans and inter-generational transfers of family businesses. He also regularly consults with clients on implementing tax-effective structures to split income with family members now and after death through will planning.
Outside of the office, he has taught at his Alma mater, Wilfrid Laurier University, and at the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants Tax Week.
