Executive summary
Mikaela Taylor is a Partner and West Leader for the Assurance practice and a member of the Senior Leadership team. As an Accounting and Assurance Firm Technical Leader, Mikaela specializes in public companies and is responsible for developing quality procedures and standards, ensuring firm-wide compliance, organizing training initiatives, assessing client requirements, monitoring performance, and assisting BDO teams globally.
She also has 20 years of audit experience across the aerospace, biotech software, natural resources, real estate, life sciences, and technology sectors.
Mikaela has strong analytical and investigative skills and is knowledgeable about publicly listed companies and U.S. GAAP accounting standards. She has also worked with both TSX-listed entities and SEC registrants.
Outside of her role as Partner, Mikaela has held numerous leadership positions, including Treasurer of the Aerospace Industry Association of B.C., Member of the Life Sciences B.C. Finance Committee, and Organizing Committee Member for the Aerospace Defence and Security Expo. She has also contributed as a Board Member for the Student Biotechnology Network, a Committee Member for CPA Canada's IFRS Discussion Group, and as a Member of the CPABC Public Company Forum, demonstrating her deep engagement across multiple industries.
In recognition of her exceptional service and significant contributions, Mikaela was honored with the Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants (FCPA, FCA) designation, one of the highest distinctions in the accounting profession.
