Matthew is a Partner with nearly 20 years of professional experience serving government and public sector (GPS) organizations across Canada. He helps improve communities through financial transformations and innovative solutions supporting better decision making and long term outcomes.
He has worked with GPS entities across North America at all four levels of government, including the First Nations, Federal, Provincial, and Municipal. Matthew is dedicated to supporting government leaders as they navigate transformation, with a particular passion for serving First Nation governments.
Matthew has led teams focused on improving public sector budgeting and planning, operations and accounting, and financial and public reporting. Over his career, he has served governments as an auditor and external advisor, held Director level roles within government, and helps lead financial advisory and operate services for governments in British Columbia.
He has held industry leadership roles supporting the Provincial Government of BC, serving as the First Nations Government Leader for BC & Yukon, and contributing to the national GPS leadership team, including the Nation Building practice. He has also been a thought leader with Government Finance Officers Associations in North America and the Aboriginal Finance Officers Association of BC.
Matthew holds an MBA from the Royal Military College of Canada and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant in both British Columbia and Ontario.
