Kevin Meyler, CIRP, CPA, CA, LIT

Executive summary

Kevin is a partner in BDO's Calgary office and is the National Service Line Leader for BDO's Corporate Financial Recovery Services practice. He has more than 15 years of experience providing restructuring, insolvency, and transaction advisory services to both private and public companies on behalf of banks, financial institutions, alternative lenders, and shareholders of businesses throughout Western Canada.

Prior to joining BDO, Kevin was president of a boutique insolvency firm based in Calgary. Through this role, together with his previous experience at an international accounting firm, he has provided services to clients in a wide range of industries, including real estate, restaurant and hospitality, oil field services, manufacturing, printing, agriculture, technology, and retail.

Kevin has extensive experience acting as a court officer in administering receiverships and bankruptcies under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, as well as plans of arrangement under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act. He also has experience acting as a financial advisor to distressed businesses or their lenders by performing viability assessments, advising on and monitoring the liquidation, and assisting in the windup of businesses outside of formal insolvency processes.

Kevin is involved in the community through Muscular Dystrophy Canada, and has talked frequently to industry organizations about a wide variety of insolvency topics.
