Executive summary

Jackson helps companies grow and better realize the impact of their intellectual properties and development work in the technology sector. His mission is to promote R&D and make it easier to become an integral part of companies, and by extension our economy.

He does that, along with help from the team at BDO, by advising clients on their R&D efforts, refining best practices, identifying impactful innovations, and navigating through funding opportunities and tax relief strategies.

Jackson received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He has 15 years of experience in product development for bio-medical devices, life sciences equipment, IT infrastructure, and consumer electronics. He specializes in software/firmware algorithm, web development, analog circuit, semi-conductor processes, optics, metrology, and technology mass production transfer.

He played key roles in the design and production process to cumulatively ship over 20 million units.

Jackson was instrumental in authoring over 20 journal papers, owned over 18 patents, and is still actively participating in both industry and academia. He was the primary point of contact in research and development work in his previous positions. Leveraging his work experience, he joined BDO and currently holds the position of Partner in the Grant & Incentive Division.
