Executive summary

Dean is an Assurance & Accounting partner in BDO's Saskatoon office. During his 28 years as a professional accountant, Dean has worked across many industries in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors in Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the Yukon. Dean has provided a variety of professional and related services over his career including assurance, tax, and advisory services, accounting and financial reporting issues, organizational restructuring, acquisitions and divestitures, business planning, budgeting, strategy, policy development, governance, and risk management.

Dean attended Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Commerce with a degree in accounting in 1995. He obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation in 1998 and was awarded the designation of Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCA) in 2014.

Dean served two terms on the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan, served on the Board of Directors of the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Saskatchewan, and chaired PwC's United Way Saskatoon campaign. Dean is a public member and chair of the audit finance and risk committee and chair of the compliance committee of the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission; a Director and audit committee chair of the North Saskatoon Business Association.
