Sonia brings more than 30 years of finance and operations experience and more than 25 years in technology consulting, with senior leadership roles across consulting, innovation, transformation, and firm governance. Her work focuses on helping leaders connect strategy to execution, technology to people, and innovation to sustainable business value.

Most recently, Sonia served as Managing Partner, Innovation & Change, where she led BDO’s business evolution agenda and helped modernize service delivery, transform internal operations, advance AI adoption, and build future-ready services and operating models. BDO’s own experience as Client Zero gives Sonia a practical perspective on what it takes to move innovation beyond ideas and pilots into scaled impact.

Previously, Sonia served as National Managing Partner of BDO’s Consulting Service Lines, leading more than 600 professionals across Management Consulting, Risk Advisory Services, and Technology Consulting. She also served on BDO Canada’s Firm Board from 2019 to 2022 and has played a key role in advancing BDO’s human-led, AI-embedded approach to transformation.

Sonia is a long-standing advocate for inclusive leadership and advancing women in business. She founded BDO Canada’s national women’s mentorship program and co-founded Women Driving Growth. In 2025, she was named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 by the Women’s Executive Network.
