Here are items that need to be checked before sending for review.

Content Tab

Titles

Titles and CTA's in general: Should be sentence case

  1. Right: This is a web page
  2. Wrong: This Is A Web Page

Hero titles: Should have no punctuation in the main banner heading but use punctuation in the subhead.

Exceptions: The main heading is a question or a series of words.

  • Generic example
    • Business Strategies
Helping you resolve the broader challenges within your business.
  • Main heading is a question
    • What is the future workforce?
Identifying trends that can impact your workplace.
  • Main heading is a series of words
    • Start. Grow. Sell.
      Taking you through business phases.

Title (page title) and Hero Title don't need to be both filled out. ONLY if the live title is going to be different than the title in the website tree (backend).

Do not break up a title unless content says you can.

Padding/Margin

  • At a glance and the jump sticky menu both have padding built in, no extra padding needs to be added (ie. Your first section on the page doesn't need any top padding - unless you are adding a background)
  • Always remove margin-top from headers at the start of a new section. We have specific code written for desktop and mobile that applies to the section row. For this reason, all spacing added needs to be at the section row.
    • <h2  style="margin-top:0;">
  • When adding a coloured box around text, please ensure you are making the padding around visually equal. There is automatic padding after our <p> tags which needs to be taken into consideration for bottom padding.

Section width/options

  • Optimal reading width is 675px. Do not go wider than this if possible.
    • If your header or sentence is pushing one word to the next line, do not make the section wider nor add a line break. Web is responsive, so while it may look fine on your screen, it may not on someone else's.
  • Add padding to the section, not the widget
  • If you are using a 2 or 3 column section, make sure you are checking the preview page at all breaking points/screen sizes. Make sure it looks good and there's no awkward spacing.

Superscript

Suffixes to watch out for that need to be superscript

  • Dates and ordinal numbers
    • January 1st
    • January 2nd
    • This is the 10th anniversary...
    • BDO won its 3rd award for...
    • 1er janvier
    • L'année 2025 marque la 25e édition de ce concours.

Nowrap

<span class="nowrap">1 000 $</span>

Note that some widgets will not allow us to use the nowrap style

  • Hyphenated words will break after the hyphen if they don't have enough room
    • one-sided
    • one-third
    • in-depth

French specific

  • start/end of quotes
    • « Nous sommes fiers d'accueillir 30 associés. »

    • 250 000 $

Insights

Last Updated Date: This is the date that appears on insight cards and is used as the sorting logic in the carousels and listing widgets.

Hide Body Content: This will hide the first section on the page, which was used on the old insight template. If you have content in this section, make sure this isn't hidden.

Listing / Carousels section: This is the information used for insight cards. It will use the "Title" field to populate the insight title on the card.

Zig Zag section: This is the information used for the Zig-Zag: Insight widget. It uses the "Title" field to populate the zig-zag title, the "Link Text" field to populate the button, and the "Thumbnail Alt Text" to populate the zig-zag image alt text. You need to apply the paragraph style to each paragraph.

  • For campaign pages, the Zig Zag needs to be created in the structured widget folder
  • Same goes for other landing pages. Don't just put it in the notes section.

At a glance section: This spot is for a bullet point overview of the insight - content will provide. It should always be in bullet points.

Twitter Card Image: An image must be added here in case someone shares the insight on X.
