BDO Canada Becomes A Xero Platinum Partner, Signs Local Adoption Agreement

Toronto, ON — BDO Canada has extended its relationship with Xero, the global cloud-based accounting platform, by achieving Platinum status and signing a local adoption agreement.

In March 2021, BDO globally aligned with Xero as the platform of choice for the firm's small business client base and was awarded Global Partner status. As the first international partnership of this kind with Xero, BDO member firms in Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand all worked to craft the vision for the global partnership.

BDO Canada has now extended the global partnership by signing a Canadian local adoption agreement with Xero. The partnership has allowed BDO to offer enhanced business services to small and midsize clients in Canada, highlighted within the firm's franchise and restaurant portfolios. Using the Xero platform, the BDO team was able to provide franchise owners real-time financial positions during the pandemic. The platform's granularity of data improved the guidance BDO Canada was able to offer so their clients could more regularly prioritize business growth over back-end financials.

“The alliance with Xero will continue our mission to help clients grow and prosper by giving them real-time financial data and insights, backed by the insights of our BDO advisors,” Matthew Sturges, National Cloud Accounting Leader at BDO Canada. “The combination of BDO's knowledge and Xero's platform is an exciting step to empowering Canadian businesses.”

Faye Pang, Xero's Canada Country Manager, adds, “We're incredibly excited to have BDO as a Xero Platinum Partner. Our two organizations are very aligned on both our values and our vision for the Canadian small business economy. BDO Canada has been a great partner and we look forward to strengthening that relationship even more going forward.”
