BDO Canada continues to echo the message from the BDO global community in our condemnation of the violation of international law and military aggression in all its forms.
The humanitarian crisis in Ukraine continues to dominate our thoughts and actions. As such, we are aligned with BDO Global on the carefully considered policy in support of our Ukrainian colleagues:
- No BDO firm will work with any sanctioned Russian and Belarussian entities including the Russian and Belarussian Government, Russian and Belarussian state-owned enterprises and sanctioned individuals as a consequence of the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
- BDO does not have a network firm in Russia. The former Russian member firm operates entirely independently under the name of Unicon.
- BDO is removing BDO Belarus from its global network. We will work to support our clients in fulfilling our legal obligations and commitments.
We are closely monitoring the conflict and commit to following Canadian government guidelines and imposed sanctions as it relates to our business.
We are encouraging our BDO Canada partners and employees to donate to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the humanitarian relief efforts and are matching donations dollar-for-dollar. As a firm, we have also contributed to a fund to help directly support our Ukraine-based colleagues and their families that are in need.
We thank our Canadian team and our BDO colleagues around the world who have come together to support our colleagues and find solutions to help mitigate the immediate humanitarian crisis.
