Toronto, ON — BDO Canada is pleased to welcome Elaine Hultzer, CPA, CA, as a Partner in our Assurance practice.
Based in Toronto, Elaine is an internationally experienced senior audit and assurance leader with more than 25 years of experience in financial reporting and assurance. She has expertise in industries such as financial services, helping clients across banking, insurance, asset management, and investment funds navigate complex audits, strengthen risk management, and uphold the highest standards of audit quality.
Elaine has demonstrated leadership in both domestic and international financial reporting and assurance projects. Elaine served as the Global leader of IFRS 17 auditability at her previous firm and was a member of its Global IFRS 17 Steering Committee. Elaine has also led audit quality inspection teams in Canada, Australia, and Taiwan, and served as Chair of the Global Insurance Audit Quality Forum.
Elaine is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in Ontario and holds Chartered Accountant (CA) designations in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. She earned her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town, along with postgraduate credentials in Advanced Banking and Financial Instruments from the University of Johannesburg.
Elaine joins BDO Canada's Toronto office effective December 1, 2025.
