TORONTO – The ongoing fight against inflation and soaring food prices continues to prove a difficult time for many. To help families in need, BDO Canada is pleased to share that the firm has raised over $250,000 for the annual Drive Away Hunger campaign to help local food banks in communities across the country.
“Each year, our team goes the extra mile to support the communities that we serve and operate in,” said Kerri Plexman, Managing Partner, Talent & Culture, BDO Canada. “I am proud to see the ongoing support and enthusiasm as our team comes together to raise money and give back.”
This year, employees once again participated in the BDO Goes the Distance fundraiser from September 23 to 25 doing everything from running, walking, kayaking, biking and even scootering. The highlight of the weekend came out of BDO Canada's Collingwood office, where Benjamin Koven, Intermediate Accountant, Assurance & Accounting, ran and walked for 100.5 kms over the span of 15 hours and 50 minutes.
This was the 15th year that BDO Canada has supported this initiative to fight hunger and help local food banks. The campaign ran from August 2 to October 14.
