Executive summary
Jeffrey is a Financial Advisory Services Partner. He has practiced exclusively in the field of investigative and forensic accounting since 1991. His assignments have involved a broad range of industries and issues in Canada and the United States.
He was one of the first Chartered Accountants in Canada to be designated as a specialist in Investigative and Forensic Accounting and thus permitted to use the CA•IFA designation.
Jeffrey's investigative accounting experience includes: business interruption loss calculations; damage quantifications related to alleged professional negligence, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and personal injury; investigation of suspected financial malfeasance; Income Replacement Benefit calculations and dependency assessments pursuant to the SABS; and due diligence work in connection with corporate acquisitions. He has provided forensic accounting services to the Provincial Police (Anti-Rackets Section), and consulting services to the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario.
Jeffrey was the forensic accounting expert utilized by the Federal Department of Transport in connection with the Tassé Review of the Toronto Port Authority and the damages resulting from the cancellation of contracts for construction of a fixed link to the Billy Bishop Airport.
Jeffrey has qualified and testified as an accounting expert on numerous occasions. He has testified before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. Additionally, he has been appointed as an appraiser under the appraisal provisions of the Insurance Act and he has acted as an arbitrator under the Ontario Arbitration Act in major commercial disputes.
Jeffrey is a Director and member of the Executive Committee of the ADR Institute of Canada. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of a property and casualty insurance company and the ADR Institute of Ontario. Jeffrey has served on CICA oral examination panels examining Chartered Accountants seeking designation as specialists in Investigative and Forensic Accounting and he has presented numerous seminars to property and casualty insurers and law firms on damage quantification.
