Stephane Tardif

Executive Summary

Stephane is a partner at BDO Canada LLP in Montreal since 2016. He works in the Risk Advisory Services (RAS) of BDO in Montreal. With close to 20 years in practice, Stephane acquired different experiences in manufacturing, services and, in the past 4 years, financial industries. During these years, Stephane has been developing methodologies, tools, approaches and implementing tools related to: internal controls, SOX/52-109 and other regulatory compliances, back-office processes optimization and profitability/cost analysis.  Prior to joining BDO, Stephane worked for Arthur Andersen and Deloitte. He also owned his business consulting firm between 2004 and 2014.

For the past 2 years, Stephane has been implementing an eGRC tool for one of the biggest financial institution in Canada. Today, he develops approaches and tools to support compliance to the Basel regulations.  For the same client, he and a member of his team are also involved in the 3 lines of defense initiatives (IIA). The target is to manage the entire the risk universe, risk events, controls, control environment, business continuity, infrastructure/business process/assets exposure, the supplier risk assessment and their owners in an integrated approach/tool.

Finally Stephane has implemented other eGRC tools, such as Resolver Risk.  With respect to the Resolver project, his mandate was to integrate the SOX team methodologies and works with those of Internal Audit.  The main objective was to leverage the work on the information cumulated by each other.
