Michael Taylor is a Partner in BDO's Toronto office who specializes in the valuation and appraisal of business and real estate assets. He has over 10 years of professional experience providing advisory services to senior financial executives and business owners, with significant experience in the real estate sector. He has led valuation and fair value review assignments for large public and private companies, with clients including REITs, funds, private equity portfolios and developers spanning all asset classes.

As part of his role, Michael assists clients in supporting value opinions on real assets across Canada and the U.S. He has assisted with opinions for many different asset classes, including industrial, retail, multi-family, hotels, vacant land, and office buildings. He also provides management consulting related to portfolio analysis, acquisition and divestiture of assets, financial due diligence, financial modelling, valuation and market yield, and incremental borrowing support under IFRS 16 for real estate clients.

Michael is actively involved in industry thought leadership related to real estate portfolio premiums and discounts, valuation of development projects, and inherent or embedded costs assessments for large real estate holding companies.
