Executive summary
Chris leads BDO's Financial Recovery Services practice in the Hamilton/Niagara area, working with both individuals and business owners to find constructive solutions for both debtors and creditors. With over 25 years of experience in the insolvency profession, Chris has undertaken various engagements covering a broad range of businesses and industries.
Chris is a past Director of the Ontario Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals. He is also a former Director of the Niagara Board of the Canadian Cancer Society. Chris has spoken to various financial institutions and law groups on business recovery and insolvency issues. He also appears periodically on the television program “CH Morning Live”. Recent engagements include:
Ontario Flower Growers Inc. – Acted as a Trustee under the Division 1 Restructuring Proposal for one of the largest wholesaler/distributor of floral products in Canada - $40 million annual revenue. The entity successfully restructured with creditors receiving a 70% dividend.
Cedar Grove Private School – Acted as Court Appointed Interim Receiver, monitoring and winding down operations which resulted in a full recovery of over $6 million for first position secured lender.
Stoney Ridge Cellars Ltd. – Following a viability review on behalf of a secured lender, successfully restructured company under a Division 1 Proposal on which a sale of the entity was predicated resulting in a full recovery for secured lender.
Niagara Bronze Limited – Acted as Court Appointed Receiver of service oriented jobbing foundry specializing in copper based alloys, operating the plant at a substantial profit for several months and facilitating an “en bloc” turnkey sale in an extremely challenged industry which benefited all stakeholders.
Proposals for High Income Earners - Successfully negotiated and administered several proposals for medical professionals, lawyers and others.
