Toronto — December 4, 2018 — Leading professional services firm BDO Canada LLP (BDO) has strengthened its market position with the admission of seven new partners during the year. These new partners bring significant knowledge and experience to the firm, and further strengthen the existing Tax team.
Jeremy Scott joined our Indirect Tax group in January, coming to the firm from Sobeys, where he was the leader of the Tax department. During his 15-year career, Jeremy has also provided commodity tax expertise to clients at Grant Thornton. Working out of our Halifax, Nova Scotia office, he will be our Indirect Tax leader for our national Retail Industry team and he will advise clients with a focus on indirect and commodity tax planning, compliance, and risk management.
Lori Lui joined our U.S. Personal Tax group in February, coming from a cross-border tax services firm. She brings over 25 years of cross-border tax experience, having also gained experience at PwC and KPMG in her career. Working out of our Vancouver, BC office, she will advise clients with a focus on U.S. and Canadian cross border personal tax planning.
Greg London joined our Domestic Canadian Tax group in May, coming to the firm from Deloitte where he started his career. For over 18 years, Greg has been a sought after tax expert on tax planning and compliance for individuals and corporations. Working out of our St. John’s, NL office, Greg will be our Tax Leader for our Atlantic Canada Office and he will provide clients strategic business advice with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, financial forecasting and modeling, due diligence assignments, and trust and estate planning.
Linda Woo joined our Transaction Tax group in June, joining us from Grant Thornton. She has also previous career experience at PwC and has extensive industry expertise in real estate, retail, manufacturing and distribution, and technology. Working out of our Toronto office, she will guide clients with her seasoned insights on tax planning for mergers and acquisitions and she will be our Tax leader for our national Real Estate industry team.
Tony Ozeroff joined our Domestic Canadian Tax group in September, coming from another professional services firm. He has also worked at PwC for many years and has more than 20 years of experience in public practice. Working out of our Calgary office, he will deliver tax planning and compliance services to privately owned Canadian companies and their owners.
Angeline Chandra joined our Transfer Pricing group in October, coming from another professional services firm in Vancouver. She has also gained significant experience in her career at both EY and Deloitte, and has more than 20 years of experience in advising multinational clients on transfer pricing and international tax planning. Working out of our Toronto office, Angeline will support our Tax team across Canada in growing the transfer pricing business.
David Fox joined BDO Law LLP as a Partner in November, coming from a boutique law firm. David has also been a partner at international business law firm Faskens. For over 15 years, David has provided his corporate legal expertise as well as income tax planning for domestic corporate transactions, to clients in many industries. Working out of our national office in Toronto, he will leverage his strong background in Canadian corporate tax and law to expand our BDO Law practice.
