BDO Canada LLP contributes almost 10% of record-breaking total for Farm Credit Canada’s Drive Away Hunger campaign.
TORONTO, October 20, 2017 – BDO Canada marked a decade of contributing to Canadian food banks with another successful year joining forces with Farm Credit Canada (FCC) on Drive Away Hunger. Over the course of BDO Canada’s participation in the Drive Away Hunger initiative, the firm collected 720,000 meals in food and financial donations to help reduce hunger in our communities.

BDO’s four-week campaign raised nearly 10 per cent of all contributions to the overall campaign. This year’s FCC Drive Away Hunger campaign collected enough food and financial donations to put over 7.28 million meals on the plates of Canadians across the country. The total is FCC’s highest ever.
Drive Away Hunger started in 2004 when a Farm Credit Canada employee drove an open-cab tractor trailer around Ontario for eight days to collect almost 60,000 pounds of food. The campaign has grown to become the largest employee-led food drive in Canada, with 100 per cent of donations directly benefiting local charities.
Over its 10 years of participation in the campaign, BDO proudly delivers enough food and financial support to provide about 3.5 million meals to our local food banks.
