BDO’s Dave Walsh comments on 2017 Ontario Budget hits and misses

On April 27, the Ontario government unveiled their 2017 provincial budget, which was their first balanced budget in a decade. Though the budget didn’t address cuts to corporate and small business taxes which many were eagerly anticipating, it did introduce free youth pharmacare and taxes on cigarettes and short-term accommodations. Dave Walsh, our Tax Service Line Leader was featured in the Toronto Star, offering his thoughts on the budget and the effectiveness of some newly introduced items.
