"Steady Growth, Good Jobs"
On April 30, 2015, the Honourable Greg Dewar presented his first budget as Minister of Finance. The government will delay its plan to balance the budget in 2016-17, and will instead continue with spending in priority areas in order to invest in infrastructure, create jobs and strengthen services.
The deficit reported for 2014-15 is $424 million which increased from the $357 million deficit that was forecast last year. A deficit of $422 million is forecast for the 2015-16 fiscal year. A balanced budget is now predicted for 2018-19.
