Manufacturing is one of the most vital sectors in Canada, providing 11% of output, $600B worth of GDP, and employing 1.7 million Canadians. Despite playing such an important role in the economy, the manufacturing industry is not without its challenges. Advancing technologies and changing consumer trends are continually reshaping the sector, forcing manufacturers to adapt and innovate in order to remain competitive. To get a better sense of what’s happening in the sector, we collaborated with Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) to survey manufacturing leaders and assess what they consider to be the greatest challenges impacting their businesses.
