We work with some of Canada’s most interesting manufacturing companies. Sovereign Fusion Inc. of Campbellville, Ontario specializes in mobile welding, structural fabrication and pipe fusion. These are jobs that can’t be performed by just anyone. So they asked if we could help them tackle some challenges in finding the right people.

The manufacturing industry has always had an issue of sparse specialized trade workers. Sovereign Fusion’s issues aligned with the industry, as they were having trouble keeping qualified people and replacing them when they left. “Staff shortages are creating all kinds of issues,” says the company’s president. “Job-completion setbacks, not meeting deadlines, and turning away jobs are all problems we’ve seen.”

After an internal recommendation, our Human Resources Consulting Services team stepped in to help. And we were able to successfully address this skilled labour shortage in a way the company never thought of before.

Our efforts led Sovereign Fusion to four new hires. Further, our approach led the company to rethink their HR initiatives for all operations.
