Is your business looking to reduce your greenhouse gas emissions?
On November 1, 2016, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters have been granted access to $25 million through the CME Green SMART fund. This program has been designed to help small to medium sized manufacturers in Ontario reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improve energy efficiency. This program invests in projects and companies that focus on building a cleaner tomorrow.
Your business may be eligible to receive reimbursement for 50% of eligible costs (up to a maximum of $200,000 in non-re-payable grants), for the implementation of capital investment projects designed to: reduce emissions and create technologies & processes that are energy efficient. Through the use of process and/or production equipment, you can use SMART funding to help reduce GHG intensity and/or offer circumvention.

If your company has multiple facilities then this fund allows you to apply for funding for up to 5 facilities. In addition, multi-facility businesses will be eligible for a maximum of $500,000 with the maximum funding allowed per facility being capped at $200,000 per project (including assessment audit).
