Conservation fund

Ontario's Conservation Fund supports innovative technologies, research and projects that are designed to improve energy efficiency, improve energy conservation or change the time-of-day that people draw power. 100% funding is available up to $100,000 for strategic research. 75% funding is available for pre-commercial projects up to $500,000.
Eligibility
- Virtually all groups are eligible, including corporations, industry associations, educational institutions and public sector organizations
- This fund is not available for individuals
Eligible program examples include:
- Testing programmable thermostats in new applications
- Load balancing of electric vehicle charging stations
- Launching new or revised energy conservation programs
- Verify the effectiveness of an energy monitoring program
- Research studies designed to lead to pre-commercial pilot projects
Available funding
- Most pre-commercial projects and training programs are funded at 75%, from $250,000 to $500,000
- Research is funded at 100%, up to $100,000
- Exceptional pilot projects may be funded at 50%, up to $1,000,00
This funding program accepts applications throughout the year.
