Public-Private Partnerships
The Canadian government is promoting public-private partnerships (P3s) to finance, design, construct, operate and maintain public infrastructure projects and services across the country. Airports, highways, museums, hospitals, schools are some of the capital projects being developed using a variety of P3 models. Public sector organizations now have more opportunities to replace aging assets and the private sector has new opportunities to contribute funding and services.
BDO has a dedicated P3 team backed by the diverse expertise of professionals in a wide range of disciplines within the regional, national and global BDO network. Our approach to P3 projects is collaborative and focused on delivering transparency and value to government bodies and profitability for private enterprises.
Our P3 services extend from initial inception through to contract award and service delivery, including feasibility studies; financial modeling, structuring and planning;
risk evaluation; developing the procurement process; transaction structuring; preparation of information memorandum; project financing; and contract development and negotiations. Always, BDO is sensitive to the need for P3 transactions to mitigate risks, minimize costs and deliver the best possible value for money.
