Keith Farlinger became BDO’s Chief Executive Officer in September 2008 after serving as Regional Managing Partner for the Toronto region of the firm. With over 35 years of experience providing auditing, business planning and financial consulting services, he has held leadership positions in the accounting industry and many business associations. He was Chair of the BDO Policy Board in 1997-1998 and served on the board from 1995-2001. In addition, he has served on the firm’s management team since 2000 and the BDO International Policy Board since 2008. Keith was Chair of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO) from 2006 to 2008 and was a member of the governing council from 2001 until 2009. He was previously a member of the ICAO Bylaws Review Committee and Bylaws Working Group and the Executive Council of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and was Chair of the ICAO Doctoral Studies Committee, Education Program Administration, and Examination Committees.
He is actively involved in his alma mater, the University of Waterloo, where he received his Bachelor of Mathematics in 1977. Keith was the founding president of the Waterloo Accounting Alumni Association (Toronto Chapter), and served as a member of the Capital Campaign Committee of the School of Accountancy, and on the Board of Governors of Seneca College. He received his CA designation in 1978 and his FCA in 1997.
