BDO and Belanger Clarke Follett & McGettigan announce merger

ST. JOHN'S: Belanger Clarke Follett & McGettigan (“BCFM”) and BDO Canada LLP (“BDO”) are pleased to announce the merger of their professional practices, effective January 1, 2011. The merged firm will operate under the BDO name.
BCFM is the largest independent regional firm of Chartered Accountants based in Newfoundland and Labrador with six offices across the province in St. John’s, Corner Brook, Clarenville, Lewisporte, Marystown and Catalina. The firm has been helping small and medium-sized businesses grow and succeed for 45 years. BCFM’s professionals have diverse backgrounds and specializations and offers services in assurance and accounting, personal and corporate and commodity tax, management advisory, among others.
BDO is one of the leading accounting and advisory firms in Canada with 95 offices across the country. The firm provides clients with assurance, accounting, taxation, financial and risk advisory services, business transition services, IT solutions, insolvency services, and more. This merger will build on the successful operations of both firms and offer clients more services from a knowledgeable team of professionals.
The six Newfoundland teams will continue to serve their respective areas, working closely with professionals in the other offices across the province. They will also provide full service solutions to meet the growing needs of businesses in their areas. In addition to the current support from their fellow Newfoundland offices, the teams will have access to an expanded team of almost 2,400 partners and professionals across Canada, including offices in Atlantic Canada. They will also have access to the international BDO network that spans over 100 countries.
