BDO and BFM announce merger - Summerside

SUMMERSIDE: BFM Chartered Accountants and Advisors (“BFM”) and BDO Canada LLP (“BDO”) are pleased to announce the merger of their professional practices, effective January 1, 2011. BFM has been associated with BDO since 2000 and will now operate under the BDO name.
BFM is a leading accounting and advisory firm in Prince Edward Island with offices in Summerside and Charlottetown. Its team offers accounting, auditing, taxation, management consulting, business plans, estate and personal financial planning to clients in the business community, government, not-for-profit and agricultural sectors, among others.
BDO is a leading accounting and advisory firm in Canada with almost 2,400 partners and professionals in 95 offices across the country. The firm provides clients with assurance, accounting, taxation, financial and risk advisory services, business transition services, IT solutions, insolvency services, and more.
The merger stemmed from BFM’s strong growth in recent years and desire to enhance service offerings and industry expertise, and from BDO’s focus on overall growth in Atlantic Canada. Both firms work with corporate and individual clients to help them succeed and improve their financial performance.
BFM’s team will continue to be led by Partner Patrick McSweeney in Summerside, and Partners Glen Murray, Wayne Beaton, Jennifer Dunn, and Patrick Trainor in Charlottetown, and serve their diverse PEI clients with quality business skills and service.
