BDO appoints Pierre Taillefer as Partner and head of Risk Advisory Services group in Montreal

MONTREAL: BDO Canada LLP is pleased to announce the appointment of Pierre Taillefer, CA, CISA, CFE, as Partner of the firm. Pierre will be heading up the Risk Advisory Services (RAS) group in the Montreal office, providing strategic advice and tailored risk management solutions to public companies, government organizations, and private enterprises operating in a wide range of industries. “We are extremely pleased to have Pierre join the BDO team. He brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in risk management, corporate governance, and regulatory and compliance issues, and will be a solid addition to our group” stated Jacques Filion, Managing Partner of BDO Montreal. Richard Payette, National Firm Development Partner added: “The expansion of our national RAS group into Montreal is well aligned with our national growth strategy, which aims to broaden BDO’s service offering and increase the firm’s presence in local markets”.
Pierre is a graduate of both the University of Western Ontario and the University of Windsor. In addition to holding a CA designation, he is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Over his career, Pierre has been involved in a large spectrum of engagements covering regulatory compliance, internal audit outsourcing, corporate governance, anti-fraud programs and fraud investigations, as well as business process, internal controls, due diligence and security reviews. Pierre has given numerous conferences on subjects including SOX, MI 52-109 and the implementation of anti-fraud programs for both public and private companies.
In tandem with our national RAS group, BDO’s Risk Advisory Services practice in Montreal will help organizations to understand, assess, and mitigate risks through a variety of services including:
- Internal audit outsourcing covering operations, finance and information technology
- SOX and MI 52-109 compliance
- Regulatory compliance, including AML, FCPA and IIROC regulation
- Service Organization Controls Reports
