Rotary Charity Hockey Challenge
The playoffs aren’t the only hockey action to sweep the province the month. In Guelph, the Rotary Charity Hockey Challenge pitted the town’s finest against each other in epic one-hour hockey battles at the University of Guelph Twin Pads.
The proceeds raised went to Rotary Youth Projects, such as ARC Industries, an organization that helps those who have intellectual disabilities.
BDO fielded a team in the tournament, consisting of Jeff Watson, Mike Arndt, Rob Venier and Adam Thompson from BDO’s Guelph office, and Bob Clayton of our BDO Solutions team. They entered a fierce battle with the Conestoga Fire Fighters, the winner facing eternal glory and a steak dinner, the loser receiving everlasting scorn and hot dogs. With everything on the line, BDO took home the victory (and delicious steak) with a 4-0 shutout. Congratulations to our staff, who, in addition to the win, also raised over $1,500 for the very worthy cause.
